How 'bout this for a Migraine

Is this a Witch or what?

Fall Activities

We have started the "Brittle Project" and sticking right with it, to attending political rallies and hosting dedicated Obama volunteers! What better way to rustle in the leaves than to go "trick or treating".

Wedding Anniversary Extravaganza

Following SPA treatments and Champagne the night of the 18th we enjoyed a meal at one of our favorites, Caro-Mi in Tryon, and the Flat Rock Playhouse Saturday evening. Our Asheville week-end was highlighted with a most enjoyable time with Ladd and attending services at Asheville First Baptist prior to returning home Sunday.

A Great Time Was Had

Another great evening with a home cooked meal followed by a fashion show and "best looking feet" competition as well as dominoes(Step wasn't too happy with dominoes results). Another exciting day of fishing to include great flounder success and a hammerhead shark surprise! A farewell breakfast at the Causeway and a dinner for Jeff and Jane on the water was a filling goodby! A morning of hugging and kissing and off they went to Baltimore. Step and I then had an evening to enjoy a great day on the beach and terrific fireworks on the 4th

Boiled Shrimp

Jeff picked up Jane at RDUAirport and they proceeded to put together a shrimp feast upon arrival back in Wrightsville. Great evening with all together on the Sea Oats deck.

Another Day at the Beach

Which one is the Surfer?

Can you Top This?

Life is good! Step and I had another great day. This time with Kent. We spent the large part of the day talking politics, philosophy, global issues, medical topics, boating, surfing, marine life, internet and computer----you name it----we covered it! What a great day to have such interesting company, friends, and family, all rolled into one!

On to the Beach

Son Jeff, and soon to arrive Jane, lead the way in auto caravan to Wrightsville Beach for a much deserved vacation. A birthday dinner of Mexican delights and the added company of Kent and Tracy was a great way to end the expedition. Birthday gifts were outstanding and it's great to have such a "high tech" family. A special meal prepared by Chef Jeff of a very tasty fried chicken and slaw was the highlight of the following day!! By the way, I would highly recommend following such a meal with a coloring competition. Fried chicken does wonders for "staying between the lines"!

Mid June

The middle of June delivered a delightful visit from son Jeff. Wanting to help in cleaning out the attic was an honorable gesture and also hard work. Discovering much memorabilia to include earphones used in early infancy seemed to ease the process of enduring a hot and dusty attic. We then went to Camp Hanes for a tour of Carolina Trails Camp.Val Elliott and Rick Bridges gave us a great look at this week long camp for diabetic kids. What a great scene! Great fun, with superb facilities, and 18 dedicated medical volunteers to insure a life long memory in being a kid with reenforcement on how to live life to the fullest.

Birthday Girl

Life in the fast lane. Welcoming party given by owners of Graylyn #15 was special. Such nice people as new neighbors. Frank and Dell James have gone out of their way to welcome us to their home and make the transition a smooth one. Being at Camp Hanes was a good day meeting alumni who have come back for the weekend, after 40 years in some cases. Now the real deal for June 7th is marking this date as special for Tracy! Happy Birthday, we love you. Boy this scene would turn any head at the beach.

Eating is too much Fun. Breakfast at Goody's and being taken out to dinner by Wayne,Pat, and Ladd at Southbeach was just tooooo good! Ladd and friends seemed to have had a good several days touring the Wilmington downtown and Airlie Gardens. It seems these mountain folks have a little salt water in their veins after all. I have started a new book ISAAC'S STORM by Erik Larson, another non-fiction about the 1900 hurricane that hit Galveston. Preparatory reading is mandatory, as there are several violent storms in the making. One needs to be prepared! Be it the high tide, the political rhetoric, selling residential R/E, or finding Batman to join the Wachovia management team, there are interesting times ahead. Batten down the hatches and lets' go to the Trolley Stop!

Fun in the Sun

What a great beginning of a fun week. Stephany and I have the pleasure of Ladd's company, hopefully we also get the benefit of his friends(Wayne and PAT) as well. Let's throw in Hall's presence as memorable as well. So far we have scratched the surface with dinner at Marc's, a R/E tour, and a cheese burger at Andy's. Tonight it's Mexicano with Tracy and Kent(maybe a Margarita for Bob). It's after the Margaritas that the blogs start blogging!
